Payment of the applicable 30% Rental Deposit amount together with a completed Guest Reservation Application must be received and approved by Makoa Resorts before a confirmation will be issued. No grace period will apply. Final payment, consisting of the remaining balance, must be received by Makoa Resorts at least one hundred twenty 120 days prior to guest arrival (or immediately if booked less than one hundred twenty 120 days in advance of guest arrival). Failure to make final payments on a timely basis will make the reservation subject to automatic cancellation.
Cancellation of booking anytime after Confirmation has been issued will result in forfeiture of deposit(s). Cancellation within the 120-day period prior to check-in will result in forfeiture of the entire rental amount. Refund of monies paid for rental and services will be made under the following circumstances: (1) If, on the day that the rental is scheduled to begin, the property is unfit for habitation and no equivalent substitute can be obtained, or the property is not reachable by the usual means of transportation, or access to the property by visitors has been prohibited by authorities; or (2) The Villa is re-booked for the same time period and at the same rate of initial booking. If a portion of the rental time is re-booked, a pro-rata refund will be made. All refunds, whether in whole or pro-rata, will be subject to the deduction equal to 15% of deposit(s) paid. To protect against cancellations caused by certain unforeseen events, such as illness, death, natural disasters, etc., we recommend that guests purchase trip cancellation and Interruption Protection insurance to assure refund of deposits paid and reimbursement of other vacation payments. Such insurance is available through travel agents, auto clubs such as AAA, or online at http://www.rentalguardian.com/ or http://www.csatravelprotection.com/ or AIG.
Credit Card Policy
Makoa Resorts accepts all major credit cards.
Hawaii State General Excise Tax – 4.17% and Transient Accommodations Tax – 13.25%
We offer free on-site gated parking for one vehicle per Villa Suite.
Early check-in is not guaranteed in advance. Guests must request an early check-in prior to arrival. The Property Manager will contact the guest if the property is ready before the 4pm standard check-in time.
Based on your planned arrival time, the Property Manager will greet you upon check-in and give you the keys. Upon check-in, please allow five to ten minutes for a brief property walk-through to answer any questions and to verify the condition of the property.
Late arrivals can access the keys in each villa’s lock box located next to the front door. The gate code is provided in each reservation’s Welcome Forms
All unapproved check-outs after 11am will be subject to a holdover charge of $200 per hour as this delays our cleaning staff.
We require a check out walk-through with you and our Property Manager to verify that the property is in the same condition as when you checked in. Guests will be held accountable for any damage or excess cleaning required. Any resulting charges will be deducted from the damage deposit unless the Damage Waiver has been purchased.
Check out Procedures
Close all windows and lock all doors. Put all perishables and food items in the refrigerator or dispose of it. Place all trash in the “Aloha Waste” trash dumpster located by the front gate. Leave one set of keys and the gate opener on the kitchen counter. Leave the other set of keys inside the lockbox.
Makoa Resorts does not allow pets or support animals. Please discuss service animals with the Reservations Manager prior to booking a reservation.
Outside Guest Policy
Makoa Resorts common areas/grounds are for registered guests that are staying on property only. Use of the Villas and/or common areas, pool, bbq, pavilions, yoga studio, etc is not allowed by guests that are not staying at Makoa Resorts.
No Smoking Policy
Makoa Resorts is a smoke-free establishment. Smoking in a designated non-smoking area is subject to fine.
Lost Key/Front Gate Remote
There is a cost of up to $200 charged to re-key the villa suite in the event a key is lost and not returned. There is a $100 charge for replacement of the front gate remote.
All noise must be brought inside by 9PM per Maui County noise regulations in residential neighborhoods. If guests receive noise complaints from other guests or neighboring properties, one warning will be given. If noise persists, guests will be required to vacate the property immediately and no refund will be issued. Any and all fines issued by Maui County resulting from noise will be deducted from the guest’s damage deposit.
